Draper Fisher Jurvetson Gotham (DFJ Gotham) is an early-stage,
IT venture capital fund focused on companies in the greater New
York region.
Draper Fisher Jurvetson Gotham Ventures is located in the heart
of Silicon Alley with a focus is on early-stage IT companies in
the following areas: Internet and Internet technology, broadband
and wireless communications, networking infrastructure and solutions,
enterprise software and IT services. The primary location for our
investments is the East Coast, in particular New York, New Jersey,
Connecticut and the surrounding regions. They also invest in Israeli
venture-stage IT companies, which are increasingly relocating to
the East Coast.
Their ideal investments are in companies run by entrepreneurs with
a "can’t lose" attitude. They typically invest $1-5
million in a company initially and reserve sufficient capital for
follow on investments. They prefer huge markets or markets entering
a hyper-growth phase. They look for the market leaders with breakthrough
solutions or approaches to fundamental market needs.
