About DFJ Frontier

DFJ Frontier believes entrepreneurs are extraordinary. Their team consists of investors who have also founded and grown companies, so they know how to help because they've done it themselves. Their philosophy is to provide support to help you turn your idea or technology into a self-sustaining business with real value. They expect the managers of their portfolio companies to own significant equity stakes.

DFJ Frontier invests in start-ups with the opportunity to change the world. They seek out entrepreneurs who have the energy, discipline, and courage to create something from nothing and the desire to work with investment partners who have the experience to help them get there. They are particularly interested in emerging technologies and will consider any market driven technology opportunity including software, information services, biotechnology, nanotechnology, and alternative energy. They like capable people attacking big markets with a viable strategy for establishing sustainable leadership.

DFJ Frontier provides much more than just capital. As an active Board Member of your company, the professionals at DFJ Frontier will help you refine your business plan, recruit and interview key employees, identify and contact potential partners and customers, secure additional funding as the company grows, and successfully manage exit alternatives.

Investment Criteria

DFJ Frontier typically invests $100,000 to $500,000 initially, with additional capital reserved for follow-on investment as the company successfully achieves key milestones. They will also structure syndicates for companies that require a larger initial capital infusion.
