DFJ Mercury is a Texas-based, seed and early-stage venture capital firm. Since inception in early 2005, DFJ Mercury has been the most active start-up and seed-stage investor in Texas, and has become the "go-to" venture firm for Texas entrepreneurs at the earliest stages of idea generation, company formation, and market execution.

DFJ Mercury has extensive experience and strong relationships with technology transfer offices and appreciates hard science with solid intellectual property. Almost always the first institutional capital into the company, DFJ Mercury especially looks for opportunities to build capital-efficient companies that address billion dollar market opportunities, and often invest prior to a business plan or management team being formed.
