Biography

Benjamin brings broad experience in venture capital and industry to his role at Draper Fisher Jurvetson. Before joining DFJ Growth, Benjamin worked in the early-stage arm of Draper Fisher Jurvetson and was involved in discovering, evaluating and managing investments across a diverse set of domains, spanning information technology, the life sciences and energy.

Prior to DFJ, he served in the east coast software group of Battery Ventures, where he focused on sourcing and vetting new investments in early and growth-stage technology companies. He has also worked in the New Products and New Products Licensing groups of Merck, evaluating the commercial feasibility of new licensing and acquisition candidates, and early-stage internal products. Benjamin participated as a field researcher in the first behavioral study of the Silky Sifaka (Propithecus candidus), in Marojejy National Park, Madagascar. He began his investment career working under Bill Miller, manager of the Legg Mason Value Trust.

Benjamin is a graduate of Harvard University, with a BA in Biology, and holds an MBA from the Harvard Business School.
