Biography

Prior to joining DFJ Growth, David worked in Shanghai for JLM Pacific Epoch, a TMT-focused research boutique, providing market intelligence to top-tier global hedge funds trading Chinese listed ADRs. Leveraging his Mandarin skills and on the ground presence in China, David tracked publically listed Chinese Internet and technology companies via internally developed proprietary data sets, while also staying abreast of emerging Chinese companies and technologies in the private sector. Prior to joining JLM Pacific Epoch, David worked for a US-based manufacturing and design services firm managing production projects. He worked directly with Chinese contract manufacturers in the areas of plastic injection molding, tool building and component sourcing. David graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a BBA in Finance from the McCombs School of Business and a BA in Chinese. He also attended Middlebury Chinese School and speaks fluent Mandarin.
