Biography

Mr. Lam is responsible for building VinaCapital Group from a US$10 million fund in late 2003 to a family of funds with over US$450 million under management by mid 2006. At VinaCapital, Don has led investments in over 35 companies and projects worth over US$200 million. Don is considered a domain expert investor in Vietnam focusing on various top performing industries and emerging sectors in both private equity and listed securities. Prior to founding VinaCapital in 2003, Don was Partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Vietnam. As one of the Vietnamese partners at PwC, Don led the Technology and Management Consulting practices and completed numerous landmark transactions in the Indochina region (Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia). Don has also held management positions at Deutsche Bank and Coopers & Lybrand in Vietnam and Canada. With over 12 years in Vietnam, Don has developed a solid track record in investments, M&A, corporate restructuring, and privatizations. Don earned a BA in Commerce and Political Science from the University of Toronto, Canada. Don is a frequent speaker at numerous international investment seminars and has been featured as Vietnam's Mr. Wall Street in Fortune Magazine.
