Biography
Elizabeth (Beezer) Clarkson is a Director at Draper Fisher Jurvetson, where she helps manage the DFJ Global Network of Partner Funds (DFJ Global Network) and focuses on its global expansion into new geographic and sector markets. The DFJ Global Network has grown to include 16 funds managing over $6B on four continents, with 140 professionals, and hundreds of active portfolio companies. Most recently, Beezer was an Investment Manager at Omidyar Network, a $400M fund by Pierre Omidyar, the founder of eBay. There she invested in information technology and financial services, as well as made fund investments on a world-wide basis with a focus on emerging markets. Prior to Omidyar Network, Beezer was a Business Manager for Hewlett-Packard's Consumer PC Global Business Division. At HP, she was responsible for executing large-scale, strategic alliances and distribution partnerships with marquis internet services companies for placement on HP desktop and notebooks globally, delivering multi-million dollar gross margins annually. Before Hewlett-Packard, Beezer was with LC39, a $40M early stage VC fund based in New York City. In her role as General Manager she sourced early stage technology investments and also acted as VP of Business Development for select portfolio companies in the financial services space. Earlier she was a management consultant for Towers Perrin, providing counsel on business strategy, management and organizational effectiveness out of their San Francisco office. Elizabeth has also worked as an investment banker for Morgan Stanley in their Global Infrastructure Group with clients located in North America, Indonesia, China, Japan and the Middle East.
Beezer earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Government at Wesleyan University, where she was awarded an International Relations Certificate, and has an MBA from Harvard Business School. Beezer currently also serves on the Board of Trustees of the Alonzo King's Lines Ballet, a non-profit arts organization.
