Biography
Jennifer Scott Fonstad is a Managing Director of Draper Fisher Jurvetson. Considered one of the most senior women in venture today, Ms. Fonstad invests broadly in early stage companies with recent investments in mobile applications, consumer and enterprise application services, and energy management. Investment successes include Athenahealth (NASDAQ: ATHN), Lumenos (acquired by Wellpoint, NYSE: WLP), Achex (acquired by First Data, NYSE: FDC), and NetZero (NASDAQ: UNTD).
In addition to her investing responsibilities, Jennifer sits on the investment committees for DFJ Frontier, DFJ's partner fund in California, DFJ Tamir Fishman, DFJ's partner fund in Israel, and serves as adviser to the DFJ China and Vietnam teams.
Jennifer joined DFJ as a Kauffman Fellow in 1997 becoming a partner in 1998. She began her career with Bain and Company after spending a year teaching math to high school students in sub-Sahara Africa. She graduated Cum Laude from Georgetown University and holds an MBA with Distinction from the Harvard Business School. In her spare time, Jennifer focuses on her family and community. She serves on the Board of Trustees for Castilleja School, the pre-eminent girls middle school and high school in Northern California. Jennifer also works as Finance Co-Chair for Meg Whitman's campaign for governor and on Whitman's Economic Policy Task Force. She and her husband Diego built the first LEED Platinum certified home in Silicon Valley and and Jennifer can be found riding or running around on weekends with one or all of their four children.
