Biography

Mark has been with Draper Fisher Jurvetson since 2002 serving as a Venture Partner for DFJ ePlanet Ventures (investors in Baidu [BIDU] and Skype) focusing on mid/late stage investments prior to co-founding the DFJ Growth Fund in 2006. Mark has over 25 years of experience with entrepreneurial deal making in both investment and operating roles. Mark has served as a high impact executive in both private and public high technology companies. He has played an integral role, as an executive and officer, in building two public companies whose revenues now exceed $1 billion per year: Symantec Corporation [SYMC], where he led the M&A effort through most of the 1990s, and Healtheon/WebMD [HLTH] where he led the early M&A effort pre and post-IPO. He also co-founded WebPartner and served as an executive at Portal Software. His investment experience includes interning as one of the first associates at Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers (during which time he first met Tim Draper and John Fisher while they were at Alex. Brown & Sons) and serving as a General Partner at Venrock Associates. Mark serves on the boards of Jobfox and WebPartner. Mark also led DFJ Growth Fund's investments in AdMob (acquired by Google - GOOG) and Silver Spring Networks. He graduated Cum Laude with a B.S.E. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Princeton University, and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
