Biography

Michael brings a solid career in venture capital combined with first-hand hi-tech management experience to his role as Managing General Partner at Tamir Fishman Ventures (TFV). Prior to joining TFV, Michael was a Senior Investment Manager at CMS Companies, a Philadelphia-based private equity firm with $1.5 billion under management. At CMS, Michael co-managed a $150-million venture fund that invested in early-stage technology and middle-market industry consolidations.

Michael served previously as Executive Vice President of Marketing at Card Guard Scientific Survival, an Israeli developer of telemedicine technologies. While at Card Guard, Michael was responsible for international marketing and sales. He established Card Guard's U.S. subsidiary, built its distribution network in Europe and Latin America, and acted as interim CFO/COO. Card Guard is now traded on the Swiss Stock Exchange (SWX: CARDG). Prior to joining Card Guard, Michael served as an analyst at Dovrat Shrem, a leading Israeli investment company, where he specialized in private equity funds and venture capital investments.

Michael serves on the boards of the following TFV portfolio companies: CeLight, DiskSites, Inc., Voltaire and MindGuard. He holds an M.B.A. and M.S. in Management Information Systems from the University of Pittsburgh and a B.A. (Magna Cum Laude) from Fordham University.
