Biography
Prof. Ran Giladi acts as Venture Partner at TFV and director on the board of DiskSites.
He brings with him a vast entrepreneurial and industry experience as well as his visionary outlook of emerging technologies and computing trends.
Prior to joining DiskSites, Ran co-founded InfoCyclone, Inc. serving as its President and CEO from 2000 until 2002. Ran is also currently a Director for LanOptics Ltd. (NASDAQ:LNOP) and EZchip ltd., producers of state-of-the-art, ultra high speed network processors. Immediately prior to LanOptics, Ran was a director at NSI ltd., a software company.
Founder of the Department of Communication Systems Engineering at Ben-Gurion University, Ran presided as its department head from 1995 until 2000. From 1987-1993, he was a faculty member at the Business School and Electrical Engineering Department of Tel-Aviv University. Prior to his faculty assignments Ran co-founded Ramir Ltd., later acquired by Harris-Adacom, and served as Vice President of Research & Development for both companies from 1984 until 1986. He also founded the Israeli Consortia for research on network management systems (NMS), serving as Chairman of the Consortia Board of Directors.
Ran's research includes computer and communications systems performance, data networks, communications and network management systems. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Physics and an Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering from the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology and a Ph.D. in Computers and Information Systems from Tel-Aviv University.
