Biography

Sergey is a Managing director of DFJ Aurora. A Moscow State University and Australian National University graduate, Sergey Romashov has thirteen years of experience working in the fields of finances, investments, and technologies. He started his career with the international holding company Pinnacle Mining Ltd., where his responsibilities involved finding, appraising, and acquiring companies. Sergey headed the financial investment department of PML with annual sales in Russia of US$ 5 billion.

Between 2000 and 2004, Sergey worked as managing director for finances at the direct investment fund Sputnik, which performed major direct investments in such sectors as insurance, mass media, telecommunications, technologies, and information technologies. From 2000 he headed a technology venture fund as part of the Sputnik group, funding several technology companies, two of which now continue their successful growth internationally.

During two years that preceded Sergey's employment with VTB in 2006, he served as chairman of the board of the group Classica, which manages hi-tech projects in the IT and telecommunications sector and provides system integration solutions. During this time he structured and carried out several deals in the hi-tech industry.
