Biography

Shai spent years developing technological ideas into global companies, predominantly in the networking and semiconductors spaces, his primary investment focus areas. He has been with the firm since 1999.

From 1994 to 1999, Shai acted as Executive Vice President for Aladdin Knowledge Systems (NASDAQ: ALDN), a leading provider of digital security solutions. During Shai's tenure Aladdin's revenues grew over tenfold. In 2001, Shai acted as CEO for home networking chip vendor CopperGate Communications. Between 1993 and 1994, Shai acted as CEO for cleantech vendor Ganot.

Shai currently serves on the boards of Allot Communications (NASDAQ ticker: ALLT), CopperGate Communications, where he acts as Chairman of the board, and Lanoptics (NASDAQ ticker: LNOP). His past investments and board positions include Native Networks (acquired by Alcatel), Teleknowledge (acquired by MTS) and Wave Systems (NASDAQ ticker: WAVX).

Shai served at an elite airborne unit. He is a former member of the Israeli team handball national team. His interests include modern art, architecture, outdoor sports and "anything that goes fast". He holds LL.B. from Tel Aviv University.
