Biography

Shelley Zhuang is a Principal at Draper Fisher Jurvetson, where her primary areas of interest are cleantech and IT.  Shelley led the firm’s investments in Wuhan Huali, Five Minutes, Tang Wind Energy (HT Blade), and serves on the boards of Wuhan Huali, Five Minutes, and on Tang Wind Energy’s Investment Advisory Committee.  She also works closely with the teams and boards of a number of portfolio companies, and serves as a board observer on the boards of Ku6.com, PPLive, Mtime and Mazon. Prior to DFJ, Shelley worked for Townsend and Townsend and Crew, where she advised major technology clients on strategic intellectual property issues. Shelley conducted state-of-the-art research in peer-to-peer networks and wireless communications at the International Computer Science Institute and University of California-Berkeley.  Her work resulted in numerous articles in various prestigious journals and conferences.  Shelley also worked for Microsoft, DaimlerChrysler and NASA, and consulted for several startups in video and enterprise WAN technologies.

Shelley earned her PhD in Computer Science from University of California-Berkeley with minors in Intellectual Property Law and Statistics as a NDSEG Fellow and a NSF Fellow, and graduated Summa Cum Laude from University of Missouri-Columbia.
