| 4th Annual Draper Fisher Jurvetson Venture Challenge - Rules and Guidelines
DFJ's statewide business plan competition available to any college or university in California that currently has an existing business plan competition.
The top entry from each business plan competition is judged in a winner-take-all prize of at least $250,000* in seed stage funding, in the form of a convertible note. In addition, second and third place entrants from each competition are encouraged to apply for a wild card berth. Three wild cards will be selected to compete.
The event will be divided into two parts:
- First round – competitors will give a 5 minute presentation followed by 3 minutes of Q&A by a panel of venture capitalists
- Second round – 5 finalist teams will have the opportunity to present for 15 min, with 15 min of Q&A
6) The event is sponsored by DFJ and its California affiliates, DFJ Frontier and Zone Ventures. The seed money is based on contributions from the three funds in the form of a convertible note.
